Orchard fruit tree

National Tree Day

Let's plant high-stem orchards as reservoirs of biodiversity and to safeguard old fruit varieties.

Once an important part of the landscape, traditional orchards are tending to disappear. Yet they are a precious reservoir of biodiversity. Not only because of the different fruit varieties they contain, but also because they form part of an ecosystem that is home to a wide variety of rare fauna, such as the Little Owl, the Anteater, and various species of bat.
