Forest tree

National Tree Day

For future generations, let's fund tree plantations to replace spruce trees ravaged by bark beetles.

Occupying a third of Luxembourg's territory, the forest ecosystem provides numerous benefits, including soil and water protection, air purification, local climate control and wood production. As a place for recreation and rejuvenation, its social importance is growing. In particular, forests play a vital role in the fight against global warming by fixing CO2 and releasing oxygen.

The Foundation is committed to the sustainable management of the woodlands it owns, with the aim of creating and restoring resilient forests rich in biodiversity, and replacing bark beetle-damaged spruce monocultures with mixed hardwood forests.
